Fiber Arts – Dye day

By trish

Notes from Fiber Arts Class this week: A fun dye day was had by all in fiber arts class- so much we’re continuing dyeing next week after I teach a bit of spinning. Everyone had two silk scarves, one bamboo rayon scarf, one lb of wool, two types of dyeable yarns and muslin galore. It was wonderful to see the different folding, shibori and color mixing experiments my students made in kettle dyeing wool and silk. We only had half an hour with fiber reactive dye, can’t wait to see their results. In the meantime, take a gander at the samples I made in class yesterday.

Ps- with yarn-making class next week, you can bet I’ll be spinning that wool soon, pics to come.
